I’ve been making glutinous rice balls for the fam – teamed up with my mom yesterday on New Year’s Eve to make a savory version of tong yuen / tang yuan, which is a symbol of togetherness. The ones we made were plain and unfilled. All I did was add some salt and oil to the dough.
I’m really looking forward to tomorrow’s feast with the entire pod which includes my auntie. So glad we have these family meals. It’s nice to be together during these pandemic times.
Hopefully, we’ll be able to celebrate with everybody next year.
